Email Set up and Configuration

Vista - Windows Mail

  1. Open Windows Mail, and from the Tools menu select Accounts.
  2. Click the Add button.
  3. Now, select Email Account and click Next.
  4. Type in your Display Name: this is the name that your recipients will see in the "From" field of e-mails that you send. Click Next.
  5. Enter your complete email address and click Next. Please make sure to replace "yourdomain.com" with your actual domain name in all examples below.
  6. Select POP3 as Incoming e-mail server type.
    Incoming mail server: pop3.airnet.net.nz
    Outgoing mail server: smtp.airnet.net.nz
  7. Enter your complete email address in the E-mail username text field and your email account password in the Password text field.
    The email account password is the password you entered when you set up your mailbox in your Control Panel.
  8. Click Next and then - Finish.

You can now use your email!

Outlook Express 5.0

To set up email on your Outlook 5.0, follow these steps.

  1. Open Outlook Express. Once the program is fully loaded, click on the Tools drop-down menu, and select Accounts.
  2. A new window will appear headed Internet Accounts. Select the Mail tab and click on the Add button.
  3. Select Mail from the side menu that appears.
  4. A wizard will now be showing, with the first box asking for your name. Enter the name you want to appear in email correspondence. Press Next.
  5. Enter your email address into the box. Press Next.
  6. Enter the server addresses: (in lower case)
    Incoming Mail Server: pop3.airnet.net.nz
    Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.airnet.net.nz
  7. Enter your username and password:
    These must be in lower case and typed letter for letter.
    Note: Make sure there is no tick in 'Log on using Secure Password Authentication'
  8. The wizard should now be complete. Click on Finish.
  9. You should now be at Internet Accounts. Click Close.

Your email is now ready to use!

Outlook XP (2002)

  1. Open Outlook XP. Select the Tools menu and then select E-mail Accounts.
  2. Select Add a new e-mail account. Click the Next button to continue.
  3. On the Server Type page select POP3. Click the Next button to continue. The Internet E-mail Settings (POP3) window will appear.
  4. In the Your Name field type in your name as you want it to appear on outgoing Email. In the Your Email field type in your Email address.
  5. Type in pop3.airnet.net.nz in the Incoming Mail Server(POP3) field.
    Type in smtp.airnet.net.nz in the Outgoing Mail Server(SMTP) field.
  6. The User Name field should contain your username.
  7. The Password field should contain your password.
  8. Tick the Remember Password box if you want Outlook XP to NOT prompt you for your password every time you download your email.
  9. Click OK to return to the E-mail Accounts page
  10. Click the Next button to complete the new mail account wizard. 

You can now use your email!

Outlook 2000

  1. Open Outlook 2000. Select the Tools menu and click on Accounts.
  2. Select the Mail tab on the Internet Accounts window.
  3. Click the Add button and select Mail.
  4. In the Display Name field type in your name as you want it to appear on outgoing Email. Click the Next button to continue.
    Type in your email address in the E-mail Address field. Click the Next button to continue.
  5. The Mail Server Information window will appear;
    Check that My incoming mail server is a reads POP3.
    Type in pop3.airnet.net.nz in the Incoming mail (POP3) server field.
    Type in smtp.airnet.net.nz in the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server field. 
  6. Click the Next button to continue.
  7. Type in your username in the Account name field.
    Type in your password in the Password field.
  8. Tick the option to Remember password if you want Outlook 2000 to retrieve your Email without prompting for the password.
  9. Check that the option for Log on using secure password authentication is not selected.  Click the Next button to continue.
  10. Click the Finish button.
  11. Click the Close button.

You can now check your Email!
